The Nant Distillery produces single malt whisky made from 100% Tasmanian barley and highland water. Handcrafted on the estate using traditional gristing and pot still distillation methods only a small number of casks are produced every year. 

 In the age old tradition of cask maturation, casks are stored on the estate in historic farm buildings to mature in an environment of quietude and tranquillity. The result is a single malt whisky that truly captures the essence of the pristine Tasmanian highlands from which it has been created.

At the centre of the distillery is the The Nant Mill.  Built in 1823, it is the only commercially operating water powered flour Mill in Australia and is used to grist the barley in our whisky production process.

 Tours and Cellar Door sales.

The distillery is open daily to the general public for tours and cellar door sales from 10am to 4 pm.  Tours of the historic water mill and distillery complex take approximately 30 minutes and conclude in the atrium lounge and whisky bar where there is a large selection of malt whiskies available for sale. Accommodation - Nant Highland Lodge

The Nant Highland Lodge is a country estate house set in half an acre of private gardens 3kms from Bothwell on the Historic Nant Estate. Sleeps up to 8 people with 2 doubles and 2 twin rooms and a comfortable sitting room with an open fire. Rates start from $240 per room per night and include a continental breakfast. Full service and all meals are available by our resident chef. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast overlooking the estate property in the atrium lounge or a picnic by the Mill Pond and relax in the picturesque grounds of the Estate. 

 Fly fishing can be arranged with fully guided expeditions to the Great Lake. All fishing equipment is provided for both the novice and experienced angler.

At the centre of the estate is the Nant Distillery and historic Mill complex where guests can enjoy a whisky tasting and master class or sit and relax in the atrium lounge and whisky Bar with over 100 different single malts to choose from. Private tours of the distillery and mill can be arranged for guests to learn the art of whisky distillation and how we produce the Nant Single Malt.

Golf is also available on the neighbouring Ratho Golf Links, the oldest Golf course in Australia. Clubs are available for hire from the lodge.
